Dr. Montagna was born in VA Beach where he spent the first half of his childhood. He then moved to Charlottesville, VA at age 11 where he grew an appreciation for the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. He is a graduate of Southern Virginia University, and the Indiana University School of Dentistry where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. While attending dental school he received recognition for his clinical skills by receiving the Outstanding Achievement in Operative Dentistry award. 

Dr. Montagna is a member of the American Dental Association and Virginia Dental Association.

Dr. Montagna is very active in his church and community affairs. He is married to Courtney Montagna of Bountiful, Utah and they have been blessed with five children. His interests outside of dentistry include basketball, gardening, cooking, and being with his family.

Dr. Montagna spends a considerable amount of time each year learning the latest techniques developed in dentistry in order to provide the highest quality of care. He is an avid learner and is most proud of his training through the Pankey Institute – one of the top learning institutions in dentistry.
